Geniuses. Who thought of this stupid BCS thing anyway. What crap.
UCLA bests USC, Michigan’s #2. #4 Florida beats a wussy team like the Razorbacks and they move up in the polls?? Why? All of them will get bested by Ohio, except for possibly Michigan. Sure, people say Michigan had their shot, but it doesn’t matter, they are the only ones out there with a chance of railing OSU.
Go to a damn playoff like they have in the NCAA basketball, and don’t tell me it’s about the money… Hell, the Big Dance generartes so much income for schools and TV alike that it makes me ill.
So, here we are on the first day of December. You step outside, and you know it too. Yesterday? 71 degrees. This morning at 7AM? 31 degrees, with a windchill of 11! Ugh. It only takes a day or two of this to remember Michigan. According to Myrna, their getting hammered up there too.
Here’s a new pic that we took last weekend when we to Cameron Brown park. It was a beautiful day. There’s a whole slew of new pics up over at our Flickr page. By all means head over there. Brooke’s birthday was a smashing success, so smashing that I forgot to take pictures. Maybe I was too smashed. I dunno. Either way, thanks to everyone for coming, including the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department (the panic button on the alarm got pressed somehow, and we couldn’t get it to turn off in time. Sadly it took them about 30 minutes to show (at which point the alarm had been off for 18 minutes). I’m glad it wasn’t a real problem. [ Note to self, don’t count on the alarm to save you.]
Christmas is right around the corner, we’ll be in Michigan before you know it.
Well, the wife finally got me going this weekend, and I got our kitchen lights done.
Here’s the before:
Here’s the after:
I’m happy with how they came out.
Well, she’s definitely growing up. Hayley’s lost her first tooth. She was over at her friend’s house after school, she was playing a dog, and thrashing a stuffed penguin around. Lo and behold, there goes the tooth! Heheh. Her whistling has improved immensely!
The historical institution and legal contract solemnizing the relationship of one man and one woman shall be the only legally recognized marital contract in this state. Any policy or law or judicial interpretation, purporting to define marriage as anything other than the historical institution and legal contract between one man and one woman, is contrary to the public policy of this state and shall be void and unenforceable in Tennessee. If another state or foreign jurisdiction issues a license for persons to marry and if such marriage is prohibited in this state by the provisions of this section, then the marriage shall be void and unenforceable in this state.
This is the verbage of Amendment 1 on the ballot here in Tennessee this November. How inane. You can get more info on it here: http://votenoon1tn.com/
Make sure you vote no on this one if you live here.
So I’ve added some new photos over on Flickr. Go on and have a look. There’s pics from the farm, the zoo, and Hayley’s first couple of days at school.
Hayley’s been working hard on her bikeriding, and now she has it down without the training wheels! Way to go Hayley!!!
OK, so it seems like I don’t bother to post unless we go to a movie. Tough. I’ll get better. 🙂
Anyhow, Brooke and I went to Talladega Nights on Saturday… You know, Will Farrell’s rip on NASCAR? Totally worthwhile, especially if you watch NASCAR, or have been to a race. A lot of fun. The sons completely cracked me up – though they certainly would have been beaten into the ground were they mine.
So I’ve been playing around lately with this great site, Pandora. If you don’t know what it is, then head on over there to check it out. It is certainly worth your time, especially if you love music. I’ve found so many new artists since listening…
The station I’m listening to right now is my Eclectic Mellow Mix, with an Irish twist. Ever since seeing Celtic Woman I’m hooked on Irish women singing. Every now and then something odd comes in, like Madonna, but for the most part it doesn’t happen often. Check it out. If you love music, it’s well worth it.
Well, it’s finally set. I pick Zak up on Sunday. Finally.
I miss the little bugger!
